This Community report summarizes the activity of the Polkadot Assurance Legion (PAL) during the period January-March 2026.
PAL​
The Polkadot Assurance Legion (PAL) is a community-driven initiative that aims to make Polkadot a safer and more attractive place for both builders and users by allocating funds from the Polkadot Treasury (bounty #22) to advance security in Rust / Polkadot SDK.
PAL provides funding for audits (Rust and Solidity), security tooling, bug bounties, and common-good security initiatives. Find out more about the various funding opportunities on PAL’s homepage.
Summary​
In the period of January through March 2026, PAL provided funding for 1 large audit, co-funded 1 bug bounty payout, and disbursed Milestone 2 of the ecosystem monitoring tool, making Q1 2026 the highest-spend quarter on record for PAL at 133,692 DOT in total.
The headline of Q1 was the co-funding of an in-depth audit of Moonbeam by SRLabs for 51,309 DOT, PAL’s single largest audit contribution to date. Results from the engagement are still pending and will be reflected in the next community report.
On the tooling side, Ocelloids delivered Milestone 2 of RFP 2501 - the ecosystem monitoring tool, with 37,251 DOT paid out.
PAL also co-funded a bug bounty payout on Acala for 23,476 DOT, continuing its support for ecosystem-wide responsible disclosure programs.
Finally, the curator team composition changed during the quarter: Pierre stepped down as a PAL curator at the end of February 2026, and the team operated with 5 curators during March 2026.

Other​
The PAL curators have received in total 21,656 DOT as remuneration for their work. In January 2026 this corresponded to $3,000 per curator, while starting in February 2026 the curator salary was lowered to $1,500 per curator per month, using the 7d EMA DOT price. Starting in March 2026 the curator team consists of 5 members, following Pierre’s departure at the end of February 2026.
